Labor & Delivery: Bodhi

A 10-11-12 birthday came and went. I had told Spencer 10-12-12 and 10-14-12 "work for me" because they are all evens, so of course Ill probably have him on the 13th.
I had been feeling pressure, having irregular painless contractions and just feeling different for days, maybe a week. I would wake up every morning and think, "Is today the day?" because with Alikah and Harper I had woke up both mornings and thought, "This is it!" That morning I thought, "Nope."

We were waiting for Harper to wake up from his morning nap and then we were going to Walmart. Spencer and I were talking in the upstairs bathroom and suddenly I cut Spencer off and said, "Get out! Something is happening." Sparing you the weird details...basically within that next minute I decided maybe today IS the day.

We took our time walking around Walmart but I wasnt feeling anything. We got home, put the kids down to nap and I started having contractions again. So I walked circles around our house. They did not hurt, but they were consistent. I should add that I have really, really high pain tolerance. Unless I think I am honestly about to die, Im gonna shrug it off as being "not so bad." I kept telling myself, "Okay, if I have one more, Ill call...Okay, Im gonna go shower, if they are still coming, Ill call...."

Spencer was a nervous wreck. He was all over the place. I was trying to stay calm but he was making me nervous haha. He was pacing around, asking me what to do, telling me to just come on!, etc.

After I showered I called Labor and Delivery and talked to someone. I told her I was pretty sure this was it but I was having a hard time believing it. She told me since it was my third baby that if I think its time Im probably right, but to wait another half hour and call back. I walked around some more, packed my bag, packed the kids bags since theyd be staying at my parents, tried to clean up a little, just wasting time. Then about 45 minutes after the first call I called again and told them, "I think were just going to come."

Its funny looking back now because the few times I did *time* my contractions they were 1-3 minutes apart. But in my head I convinced myself, "that cant be right. maybe they arent contractions. they dont even hurt!" The whole way to the hospital I was thinking, "This is stupid. Am I even still having them? Were gonna get sent home. Maybe we shouldnt go."

We checked into the hospital around 8. I was 5 cm and 100% effaced.
My midwife wasnt able to be there so the other midwife came. They asked about my water and I told them with Alikah they broke it and with Harper he was almost born in it. They asked if I had any problems with them breaking it and I said no.
At 8:30 they checked me and I was 7 cm. They brought out to the tool to break my water and I said, "Wait!!? Were doing this NOW!?" It was all so so fast. At 9:00 the anesthesiologist came and gave me an epidural. Since I was progressing so fast he just gave me a low dose that wore off within the hour.

My sister Heather and Joey made it to the hospital just in time. Up until then Alikah and Harper were running around all over and we were scared no one was going to get there in time to watch them. The nurses started arranging for some other nurses to watch them in the waiting room for us.

Anyway, seriously the whole ordeal happened so fast the rest of it is fuzzy to me. We took some pictures, tried to relax, and all of the sudden the midwife was checking me and telling me if was time to push. And I was just like are you fucking serious?

I pushed for 12 minutes and Boden Bob Katt was born at 9:58 PM.
He was 7 pounds even (big! for being a preemie) and 20 inches long.
He has dark curly hair just like in a dream I had.
*Fun fact: Alikah was born with a knot in her cord. They had to tell me that if she wouldnt have been born when she was, she most likely would have been a stillborn. Right when Boden was born the midwife said "oh wow" -- Boden had a knot in his cord. A very loose one, thank God, so not as bad as Alikahs. But how weird that they both had that! Boden's cord was also so thick and strong it took them a few tries to cut it!
I got to hold him for a little bit while they cleaned him off but they realized immediately that he was not breathing right and they took him to the special care nursery.

It was unreal. 3 hours earlier, I wasnt even going to go to the hospital.
And now he was here!
Spencer and I were alone afterwards. Pretty silent. Wondering what the fuck just happened?
I was definitely in shock.

I will be writing another post soon about the 2 weeks since then...what Bodhi had, NICU updates and what not. I am so grateful that he is healthy and happy now and that we are all home together.
Our home is filled with so much love.
Words cant describe, really.

now we wait

*Court went okay on Friday. I will say this: I (for the most part) "got what I wanted" without doing anything. People, if you are mean and thrive off of drama its going to come back around. This whole ordeal that started with his parents taking me to court, is ending with me being out of the picture and him and his parents going to trial. Kind of back-fired on them.

*Saturday Spencer and I had a really nice time. Alikah was at nonna's and once we got back to our house we just sat around doing nothing with Harper. We went up to bed early and just laid there talking for awhile, which we almost never get to do. I wanted him to give me a back massage.....Do you know how hard that is when you are 9 months pregnant? Obviously cant lay on you stomach like I normally would, laying sideways doesnt work, and sitting up is so uncomfortable. Anyway, about a minute in he was reaching for massage oil and knocked over my full cup of water. All over the floor, my books, the bed. MY side of the bed :( It was a bad idea haha.

*Sunday we went for a walk and took some maternity pictures. I dont like any of just me. Spencer did a really good job, I just dont like how I look at all. You can tell how uncomfortable I am. We took a couple of both of us right before we left and they turned out to be the only ones I was happy with. But thats okay because we needed some new ones! (And Spencer looks really hott.)

*Alikah is still in love with school and tomorrow they are taking a little field trip to the fire station! Seriously, what a perfect 1st field trip for a girl that sometimes says she wants to be a fire fighter when she grows up. Im so excited for her! (and kind of jealous that I wont be there to see it.)

*Lastly: I had an appointment this morning. I told her I felt like *something* was happening and asked her to check me. 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced! Ya! His heart-rate has slowed down and she said hes definitely getting ready to come.

33 weeks

How far along?: 33 weeks
Total weight gain: Around 12 pounds
How Big Is Baby?: Average 4-5.5 pounds, 17-18.5 inches. He could grow an inch a week!
Movement: The other night in bed while I was reading Spencer had his hand on my stomach and it was amazing how much he was moving. It kept me awake that night. Hes been very active.
Sleep: What side I sleep on depends on which side baby is facing. I dont like laying on the side his arms/legs are on because I feel like Im squishing him haha. Twice now Ive had to take my ring off in the middle of the night because my fingers get puffy.
Symptoms: Heart burn, hot flashes, weird skin, very LAZY. I wish I could spend the entire day laying in bed.
Food cravings/aversions: Orange juice. Spencer has been buying a 2 litre every day and I drink it all. I could seriously chug a gallon of it. I have to cut myself off. I drank so much the other morning that I threw some of it up. So yeah, OJ is like my crack right now, if you cant tell...

Alikah and I made these Ghiradelli brownies the other day. Spencer had 1 or 2. Alikah had 1. I ate the rest. In one day. I will never buy them again. They are too good.
Its okay though because I made smores krispie bars the other week (golden grahams, melted marshmellows & chocolate chips) and Spencer ate half the pan after work one night haha. So now we are even. Kind of. His was half mine was all, but Im pregnant. So its fair.

Labor Signs: Braxton hicks daily.
What I miss: Im over being pregnant. Definitely ready to have this baby.
What I am looking forward to: Going into labor.
Other: I dont have to do the 3 hour glucose test! Wooooo. She asked if I did it yet and I said no and explained to her that especially since I dont drive, Spencer works 2nd shift, and we dont have any family close to just drop the kids off at it....finding a morning that we all wanted to waste 3 hours of wasnt happening.
And she said thats fine! Just test myself 4 times a day and bring my numbers to our next appointment.
Nice and easy, I can do that :)

Hot showers and hot baths sound heavenly. I made Spencer turn up the temp on our water heater today because my water isnt HOT ENOUGH. It just feels soooo good.
So I take it back about wishing I could lay in bed all day. I want to lay in bed most of the day, and spend the rest of the time in a hot bath.

31 weeks

How far along?: 31 weeks
Total weight gain: Around 12 pounds
How Big Is Baby?: 3 pounds! 16 inches
Movement: Lots, and I feel pressure more and more now.
Sleep: 100/150mg sleep aide. I pee at least 4 times in the hour or so that it takes me to fall asleep. Weird & vivid dreams. But once I finally get comfortable and fall asleep, I do sleep pretty well.
Maternity Clothes: Its been hot, so at home Im usually just in underwear. The shirt I am wearing in this picture is a mens Calvin Klein shirt that I got on black Friday a few years ago. I have it in white too. Some days I am convinced they are the most comfortable shirts in the world.
Symptoms: Heart burn, hot flashes and sweating*, weird skin**, gross bathroom trips, random back ache, nesting.
Food cravings/aversions: I have NO appetite. Nothing sounds good. I crave water, lemon water and orange juice. Its not unusual for me to completely forget to eat until 1PM, then my blood sugar plummets and I start shaking and realize I need to go eat!
Labor Signs: Braxton hicks daily.
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach. Being comfy in general.
What I am looking forward to: NEXT MONTH! I am confident well have a new baby in October :)
Other: Last midwife appointment: Heart rate was 156, uterus measuring 28 weeks (which is normal for me)
Our glucose testing conversation:
Her: Did you get to do the 3 hour test yet?
Me: No
Her: Do you know when youre going to?
Me: No
Her: Okay. Just try and do it as soon as you can..
Me: Yeah.
My next appointment with her is the 11th and I know I wont have done it by then. Ill probably end up calling to schedule it next week...or the week after....or in three weeks....well see...

*I walk around going, "Omg it is so hot in here. Can you turn the air on? Its so hot. Omg arent you hot!!?" and Spencers just laughs and says I am so pregnant.

**My skin is itchy and drives me even more crazy than usual. In the last week I have stated that I, a) have ringworm, b) have skin cancer, c) need acne body wash. Again, Spencer just laughs and says I am insane. Also skin related: Im getting cellulite on my legs. Spencer says Im not, and when I squeeze them to show him he says that doesnt count. (yes it does.)

Me: Alikah, why does Harper scream like that? Can you understand baby?
Alikah: Uhhh, no. Maybe you should ask Boden!
She talks to him a lot too and asks him when hes coming out :)

29 weeks

How far along?: 29 weeks
Total weight gain: Im gonna bump this up to 12 pounds now but I am not really sure. It changes.
How Big Is Baby?: 2.5 pounds, 15 inches
Movement: Seems like he has a cycle now! Hardly any moving/sleepy baby, then he goes crazy for a whole day, then regular movements, then sleepy, then crazy, then regular, etc etc... I also feel like he is usually very HIGH & in my ribs.
Sleep: Eh. So hard to get comfortable!! One side will make me feel like I constantly have to pee, the other will give me heartburn, cant lay on back or stomach (obvs.) Trying to take 100mg, end up going with 150 most of the time.
Maternity Clothes: YA! Went to the mall with my mom, Heather, Luke & the kids yesterday and got some! I got two pairs of leggings, a tank top, and 3 or 4 half/quarter sleeve shirts. Also some undies. Whenever I get further into my pregnancies the only kind of undies I want to wear are cotton boy shorts.
Symptoms: Uncomfortable, heartburn, back aches.
Food cravings/aversions: Ive had a few days where the only thing I wanted to eat was greek yogurt + granola. Also oreos.
Labor Signs: Nope..
Belly Button in or out? Its out like always.
What I miss: Meds, Im getting uncomfy with my weight gain, sleeping on my stomach.. [Same as 27 weeks]
What I am looking forward to: I just want to meet him!
Other: Next appointment is the 28th. I had to reschedule it twice because of court and Spencer switching to 2nd shift this week. I have not called to schedule a 3 hour glucose test.

I feel like Ive started showing a lot more recently. Looking back at 15 week pictures was kind of shocking! I wont be doing that again lol.

27 weeks

How far along?: 27 weeks
Total weight gain: about 10 pounds
How Big Is Baby?: almost 2 pounds, 14.5 inches
Movement: Hes been calm the last few days. Hes most active around 10 PM
Sleep: Back to taking 150mg of sleep aide this week, only because of my neck. Will switch back once its doing better! At least 2 bathroom trips a night, fun...
Maternity Clothes: Havent worn any yet...same as usual.
Symptoms: I feel awkward and uncomfortable. Tired.
Food cravings/aversions: Hmm...nothing really.
Labor Signs: Nope...
Belly Button in or out? Its out.
What I miss: Meds, Im getting uncomfy with my weight gain, sleeping on my stomach..
What I am looking forward to: ?
Other: Had an appointment today! His heart rate was 156. She didnt measure my uterus growth, but the last 2 times I checked I was 24 & 25, so pretty close! Itll be interesting to see if I stop growing at 32 again.

Had my 1 hour glucose test. I feel pretty good about it? I felt fine, the drink was different than my old clinic. It tasted like stale Sierra Mist. I was able to walk around and do whatever for the hour and then they took my blood. They got my left arm first and it made this loud sucking noise and then when she took it out it bleed all over. The lab lady was like "HOLY!!" and kept apologizing. It was really strange! So she just switched to my right arm haha.

My neck: She glanced at it then sent me to a different doctor. After some scraping and testing, turns out it is now an infection. I made it much worse (surprise!) Spencers picking up some cream from the pharmacy tomorrow and hopefully itll be better in a week or 2 or I have to call back...
These pictures are from the other week, but I like them...
Update: Failed the glucose test. Ugh.
On top of this news, I feel really disgusting today and I wish this pregnancy was over. Ive thought, "I never want to be pregnant again" too many times. It really bothers me when I feel like that. In my heart I know Im not serious but its pretty overwhelming lately. Its draining me :(

25 weeks

How far along?: 25 weeks
Total weight gain: ~10 pounds
How Big Is Baby?: around 14 inches, 1.5-2 pounds! Uterus is about the size of a soccer ball (whoa)
Movement: Yes, I can feel him from my back to my front. In my ribs and on my crotch. He is using all his space!
Sleep: 150mg sleep aide, trying to get down to 100mg. I am tired but sleep semi crappy most nights. Middle of the night pee trips & very weird & realistic dreams.
Maternity Clothes: At home Im hanging out in my underwear & a sports bra. When I go somewhere its my usual tank tops, maxi skirts, comfy shorts or a dress.
Symptoms: I get light headed & dizzy, I am starting to feel more "pregnant", my skins a little off, heart burn, etc...
Food cravings/aversions: I need fruit everyday. Any kind of melons & strawberries. Chocolate/sweets. Still not eating turkey or chinese at all....
Labor Signs: Ive definitely had braxton hicks contractions, more than my other 2 pregnancies for sure!
Belly Button in or out? Its changing. I have my belly button roll..
What I miss: I miss my meds. I hate not being able to just take them when I need them. A drink also wouldnt hurt :) My exercises are dying down. I feel weaker.
What I am looking forward to: Spencer building his crib.
Other: If Im touching my stomach Alikah will ask if the babys kicking or awake. Harper likes to play with my belly button.

I have the one-hour glucose test at my next appointment. I really considered refusing it this time around. It was nothing but a huge waste of time with Harper. I am not that worried about it though because my appointment is at 5 PM and my midwife didnt give me any specific instructions. Im going to test my numbers at home for a few days before hand, too.

lovely beautiful a/c

We are home from the cabin!
It was almost 90* in our house last night. Ew. So thankful we spent the last week on or near water.
So Spencer went right away this morning to pick up a window AC unit from Kristan.
Its starting to kick in and already feels great. Thaaaank you Kristan!
Not sure when Ill start working on updates...
Unfortunately about a half hour ago the vision in my left eye went all funny. I had an annoying flashing row of "lights." Now the lights are gone but my vision is definitely off and I have a headache thats progressively getting worse. I do not feel good.
Im trying not to look up too much on Google, but I took some ibuprofen and am going to call my midwife or a nurse if it doesnt start getting better soon.

an announcement

Yes. Hi. Welcome.
I'M PREGNANT!
First things first:
His due date is November 5th.
So I am 22 weeks/5 months!
ITS A BOY!
His name is Boden.
And heres some things to get you all caught up!
-No, we were not trying.
-The first thing I said after I got a positive test: "No FUCKING way!"
-We got pregnant the week of our wedding.
-I am seeing a midwife. I like her but I miss my old doctor so much.
-I was 95% positive it was a girl. This pregnancy was almost identical to Alikah. How I felt, my symptoms and cravings & how I was carrying had me convinced it was a girl.
-We found out it was a BOY on June 21st, Harper's first birthday! He must have wished for a brother ;)
So this little guy is definitely a trickster.
After we found out it was a boy I made Harper a onesie that says, "I turned ONE and all I got was a little brother."
Both of my parents reacted exactly how I thought they would. My mom was almost word-for-word.
My dad didnt get it at first and then said, "You're pregnant again?"
He also added: "You how far along? You waited this long to tell us?! Well, took longer than I expected. One of you needs to get fixed."
I got my mom & sisters reaction on video, so Ill post it her eventually :)
I told my sister in the Philippines to call me and once I said I was pregnant she said, "Sign on to Skype!"

Spencer wanted to tell his parents, so he was in charge of all that..

I still cant even believe Im pregnant! It was hard to keep it secret so long, especially at the very end when we found out it was a boy and I started showing more. I think know what everyone knows these last few months will fly by!

36 Weeks - Hes Coming!

How far along?: 36 Weeks
Current Weight: 140

I had a doctors appointment today! We talked for awhile and decided that we would try to strip my membranes if it was possible. Well - It was possible! I am 4cm dilated!! I think were were equally surprised. I am also 50% effaced (-3 station) and she could feel him and said my bag of water was bulging. So she didn't strip my membranes - she said she wouldnt be surprised if I went into labor tonight on my own.

Aside from one strong contraction I had a week or two ago, I didnt think I had had any real ones. But maybe I was just brushing them off as "braxton hicks" too quickly...

I have an appointment next week Tuesday with the doctor I met last time but then I am going back to my doctor on Thursday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If I dont go into labor before then, I definitely should afterwards. We also scheduled me for an ultrasound with the perinatologist tomorrow just to check on his growth since I am still measuring 33 weeks.

I am so excited!! We are going to put together the crib tonight and I will probably get my hospital bag ready to go.

Alikah did great as usual and was acting excited with me lol. She has been saying, "Babys coming babys coming!" and "Come out baby Harper!" I asked her if she was going to give him a big kiss and she said "Yeah! And a bigggg hugggg too!"

From my update last week: "Spencer has a "feeling" about next week."
Looks like he could be right!

Month Nine

Alikah has been whining a lot and not talking which drives me nuts.
So we are both crabby today.

35 Weeks

"Good news! There's an excellent chance that your baby will have no complications if born at 35 weeks or later!"

How far along?: 35 weeks
Current Weight: 139.5
Total weight gain: 15.5
How Big Is Baby?: "In week 35 the average baby weighs around 5 to 6 pounds and measures about 16 to 19 inches in length."
Sleep: I had a dream last night that Harper was born. But I couldnt remember it at all. It was really weird, I hated it.
Movement: It feels like hes trying to get out. He is strong and active.
Symptoms: My crotch bone hurts. Hes definitely putting a lot of pressure on it. Heartburn, Ive been taking Tums every night before bed.
Food cravings: Chocolate
What I am looking forward to: Doctors appointment next week. Stripping membanes.
Milestones: "35/35" 35 weeks done, 35 days to go. (Or 14...or less...)
"Lungs. The lungs will most likely be fully developed by Week 35."

Its hard to bend over, squat and lean over (like to take off Alikah's shoes), and rolling over at night is annoying.
The belly along with the heat has been making my asthma act up.
I feel very pregnant today.

Spencer has a "feeling" about next week.

Cloudy

I really need to start keeping notes about our days.
I forget so fast.
I've been out of it the last two days now.

Today the weather was iffy but we went to my parents.
Heather was just getting home from her last day of high school (!!!) when we pulled up so we got to see her for awhile.
It was hot but not sunny so we didnt end up swimming like I had planned.
But Alikah loves watering the plants so she got soaked playing with the hose and filling up her tiny watering can.
I got Alikah's old carseat down from the garage and we hosed that off to get it all ready for Harper to use!
Hopefully we will be moving the rest of the baby stuff and some couches from my parents to our apartment this weekend.

A storm is dying down right now.
Alikah sat outside with Spencer and watched it. She liked it!
I hope it stays that way. I am so scared of storms haha...
I would be no help to her if she was too.

The last 2 naptimes Ive dreamt that I was grocery shopping. For cake. Cheesecake. Ice cream cake. Candy. Seriously, how much more fat and pregnant can you get? Repetitive dreams about cake. Im awesome.
Anyways, Spencer got me one.
I just had some. It was gooood.
I love him.
Goodnight!

34 Weeks

How far along?: 34 weeks
Current Weight: I dont know. 138-140.
Total weight gain: ~15
How Big Is Baby?: 17-19 inches, 4-6 pounds!
Sleep: Flipping around a lot, waking up a lot, crazy dream last night, but it isnt unbearable or anything.
Movement: A bunch, like always.
Maternity Clothes: The (non-maternity) tanktops I live in are almost getting to small! Thankfully I do have others + dresses to wear for the last month.
Symptoms: My gums are really sensitive. And Im farting. I hate farting.
Labor Signs: I had a semi-strong contraction on 5/31. I had to walk around the living room until it was over. It surprised me.
Belly Button in or out? Out!
What I miss: Showering/shaving/getting ready normally.
What I am looking forward to: Everything!
Milestones: If all goes well, this is the last month!

I had a doctors appointment today. I met with the doctor that will deliver Harper if I do end up having him in July. Shes very nice and wanted me to know that I was one of my doctors favorite patients and they had talked about me a lot because my doctor really wants to make sure everything goes okay with me. I love my doctor. Im going to miss her. Hopefully the clinic shes switching to accepts our insurance so she will able to be Alikah and Harper's pediatrition.

Anywayyyy...when she was listening for Harper's heartbeat he kept jumping around (of course) so we didnt get a reading til the 3rd time. It was 155-165 and really LOUD. She said that it was accelerating and that that was awesome to hear in babies and that he must be really healthy! :) I measured 32 weeks.

Alikah was adorable the whole time. She wanted to get on the table right away for "her turn" and when the nurse played along and checked her arms and legs she was like, "What about my belly??"
The whole appointment she kept chiming in - "Im sick!" / "My ears hurt!" / "My head hurt!"
And at the end she was playing with the blood pressure cuff and putting it on my belly and the doctor goes, "Oh my god is she checking the baby?! She is too cute!!"

33 weeks

How far along?: 33 weeks
Current Weight: 139.5 lbs (2 pounds in a week?! Uhhh..)
Total weight gain: 15.5 lbs
How Big Is Baby?: the size of a pineapple
Sleep: Weird. I feel like Im not sleeping, but I am? It feels more like a half-sleep.
Movement: I feel it in my ribs, way down low, and everywhere in between.
Symptoms: Getting harder and harder to bend/roll/stand up..
Food cravings: Trail mix. I measure it out because I seriously could eat the entire bucket of it. (I have "Monster" from Target right now)
What I miss: Shaving easily.
What I am looking forward to: Starting weekly appointments.
Milestones: He should be here in ONE MONTH!!! Wow..
Best moment this week: I think my favorite thing now is when Alikah kisses him or acknowledges him in anyway.

On the last 2 or 3 walks we have taken shes wanted to push the stroller. The other night I was reading her Big Sister book to her and she wanted me to go to the "stroller page." It says "I help push you in the stroller," and it made me realize she was doing it because she remembered it from the book.

Harper's baby shower is part of my parents big June 25th party, but this week Spencer's mom told him that they decided to have a little baby shower for us too.
Because of time and schedules, its going to be after Harper is born. I wasnt expecting this at all! This is really all happening! We cant wait to meet our little boy.

32 weeks & Alikah's 2 Year

How far along?: 32 weeks
Current Weight: 137.5
Total weight gain: 13.5 pounds
How Big Is Baby?: "Your baby weighs about 4 pounds and is about fifteen to seventeen inches tall."
Sleep: I took 200mg of sleep aide for 2 days when I was really sick, last night I went back to 150mg. All things considered, Ive slept pretty well.
Movement: His legs have always been to my right side, but last night he flipped them over to the left for the first time!
Food cravings: Trail mix
Best moment this week: Doctors appointment yesterday. At my 28 week appointment I measured 24 weeks, yesterday I measured 31 weeks. So I grew "7 weeks" in 4 weeks...I guess I popped? :)

My doctor couldnt find a heart rate so she brought in an ultrasound machine just to make sure. I wasnt worried because while she was looking for it he was moving around, so I knew he was okay. We found it right away on the ultrasound (147), and I got to see him for a little bit :)

I go back in 2 weeks, then 2 weeks then every week. I am getting SO excited. I could be holding him in a month. Like I said before my Dr. will start stripping my membranes at 36 weeks and some other stuff to have him out *hopefully* at 38 weeks. Spencer has a feeling hell be here early no matter what.

Alikah had her 2 year old check up. She loved getting weighed and measured and she sat perfectly still while they listened to her heart and checked her ears. The nurses and my Doctor were saying they never have 2 year olds do everything so calmly. She weighs a little over 25 pounds which is 50%/average, and shes still TALL! She has to get that from her aunties. She got really worried when they brought in the ultrasound machine for Harper and needed to come by me right away to see that they werent hurting me.

Its really nice out today! Alikah went on a walk around the neighborhood this morning. Were going to hang out at my parents house when Spencer gets home from work. We started pulling tiny weeds from the sandbox the other week and it was kind of addicting. Spencer just mentioned it on the phone and now Im excited to pull some more tonight. Hahaha....sad.

31 weeks

How far along?: 31 weeks
Current Weight: 137
Total weight gain: 13 pounds
How Big Is Baby?: 15-17 inches, 2.5-4 pounds.
Sleep: I switch sides all night. Some nights I constantly feel like I have to pee if I lay on my left side, others its my right. Its a good thing Spencer sleeps like a rock. Once I fall asleep though I sleep pretty good. Super crazy dreams though.
Movement: Ive gotten 2 kicks that have made me say "Ow!"
Maternity Clothes: I wore my maternity jeans for the first time on Mother's Day. I wont be buying anymore maternity clothes though, I have enough regular shorts/skirts/dresses that will fit for the rest of the time.
Symptoms: Tired.
Food Cravings: Trail mix! I need to go to Target. And granola.
Belly Button in or out? Its out.
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach.
Other: At my 28 week appointment I measured 24 weeks and Im interested to see if its changed at our appointment next week. I feel like he has gotten higher and more into my ribs, but when I try to feel my uterus myself it doesnt feel like its gotten any bigger. I never measured past 32 weeks with Alikah...

Today I was laying on the couch trying to get videos of Harper kicking and Alikah ran over and put her hand on my stomach then kissed it.

Shes been kissing my belly and saying hi to him more and more often. She says "baby Harper" ridiculously cute. She thinks that her and Spencer have baby Harpers too.

Belly Button in or out? Out
What I miss: Feeling comfortable. Its hard to put on socks and shoes now.
What I am looking forward to: Meeting my little guy.

I had my gestational diabetes class yesterday. I have to chart what I eat and check my blood sugar 4 times a day. From there we will figure out what I have to do, hopefully it will just be a change of diet.

Its going to drive me nuts. We ate at 6:30 last night so I had to check at 8:30. My number was high. (Supposed to be less than 120 and I was 161) I spent the next hour and a half reading all my stuff and going "Maybe I should test again...I did eat some of Alikahs food after...am I supposed to check 2 hours from when I start eating or when I stop?? Should I do it again? I snack all day...does it need to be 2 hours of eating NOTHING? SPENCER SHOULD I DO IT AGAIN??!"

I didnt check again,
we did check Spencer though haha. He was 86 or something.
I was pissed. But he had a couple beers so I decided he doesnt count anyways.

How far along?: 29 weeks
Current Weight: 135
Total weight gain: 12 lbs
How Big Is Baby?: 2.5-3.5 lb, 15-17 inches.
Sleep: I wake up a lot. The belly getting more and more uncomfortable.
Food cravings/aversions: Ive been eating a lot of cereal.
What I miss: Laying on my stomach. Its getting harder to roll over and get up now, too.
What I am looking forward to:Him being here!

I dont feel good. I dont know if I'm actually sick or if its the pregnancy.
Lisa had Alikah yesterday and is dropping her back off today at 1. I slept in and rested but I still dont feel right. Honestly I think its a mix of the pregnancy, a little cold, starting my meds again and all the bullshit thats happened lately. I just feel...numb, I guess. Im ready for it all to pass. Im ready to move on.

I have my 3-Hour Glucose test tomorrow morning at 9:15.

28 weeks

I dont feel like doing anything today. I havent all week really. Blah.

How far along?: 28 weeks
Current Weight: Ill check tomorrow *135*
Total weight gain: 10-12
How Big Is Baby?: 2lb 11oz at our ultrasound yesterday!
Sleep: Ive been tired. Lots of naps.
Movement: Tons! I hope he is not this hyper after he is born.
Maternity Clothes: Living in sweats, leggings and tanks. Non-maternity.
Symptoms: I have no idea if its pregnancy related or not, I just dont feel "normal." One of my 28 week emails started with "Feeling miserable?" So, maybe...
Food cravings/aversions: I have wanted Snickers. Apples. Cereal.
Im Looking Forward To: Meeting Harper. Some warm weather would be nice, too.
Milestones: Third trimester
Best moment this week: Seeing him for a couple minutes on the ultrasound yesterday, even though I didnt get any pictures. My placenta previa corrected itself!

I had the 1 hour glucose test yesterday and I failed so I have to go back next week to do the 3 hour one. I had to with Alikah too. Hopefully it comes back fine.

We talked about my due-date too, and hopefully we will have him here by the end of June.
