kids update 2013 NYE

Alikah:
Sassy, Bossy, Motherly, likes to put me in my place if she thinks Im being "too mean" to the boys, fights with Harper so much but would never let anyone touch or hurt him or Boden. She helps with them so much.
Shes way advanced in school, loves coloring, spelling, Barbies, Ellie, ABCMouse, DisneyJR Online, always wants to write and send letters to people, loves all Hoildays and our new hotel weekends, playing outside, Doc McStuffins, Curious George and Julius Jr.

Harper:
Dinosaur. The end.
Just kidding. Like I always say he is the sweetest funniest dinosaur ever. He now yells NO when we tell him "time out!" and when we ask him if hes being naughty on purpose he will grin and say, "Yeah." He climbs on everything. He makes messes. He LOOKS for trouble to get into. But then he cuddles. He cuddles and laughs and asks for huggies and kissies and gets sad if he doesnt get to give them to Bodhi before a nap. Hes very protective over Alikah and Bodhi. He has no indoor voice. Him and Bodhi share a room now and he wakes up Bodhi every morning and gives him a toy or book and climbs into the crib with him (which makes me soooo mad because he wakes him up but its also adorable even though Id never admit that at 7AM.) A few months ago he only spoke dinosaur but now I can pretty much understand everything he says and its amazing to watch him learn and grow in that way. He love Chuggington, Thomas, and Mickey Mouse.


Bodhi:
Is an angel. Walks everywhere, runs. His new facial expressions make me smile or crack up. He still loves to eat. Hes extremely sensitive, he cries if anyone yells. Hes a little dramatic...when hes upset hell slowly lower himself to the floor on his stomach and pout/whine. Hes a clinger and loves his mama, dada and siblings. Hes not a little baby anymore :( Weve gotten rid of most of our baby toys. He absolutely hates his carseat. He never screams as loud as he does when we are in the car. He laughs when I change his diaper where as both other kids hatttted it. Hes impatient in the morning when we need to change him, get a drink and food. He wants all 3 DONE. NOW. His favorites toys are balls and cars. He loves throwing balls. And music, dancing and playing kitchen.
He likes the Chugginton theme song.......and the SVU one (oops)

One day until Bodhi is 11 months so I figured Id update about everyone else too, since I havent for awhile.

Alikah LOVES school. She only goes to half-day 4K. She was in preschool longer than shes in 4K haha but she does love going. She cant take the bus home for whatever reason so I have to pick her up everyday. I drive! Its like a 1 minute drive but still. Harper hated going so I bring him over to Lyndsies then meet them when we get back and we all walk to get Taitum from the bus stop.

Everyone got new routines with school. The first couple days were all messed up but now the boys have new naptimes and it works out alright.

Harper is talking a lot more and loves trains. Hes changing a little, he used to always be insanely crazy and loud and now a lot of the time when theres people over hell kind of wander off by himself. Still loves cookin ;)

Bodhi crawls, sits, and absolutely loves his walker. He runs his little cute butt off. He doesnt eat any baby food anymore. He wouldnt let anyone feed him so we just started giving him our food and he loved it. He'll eat anything haha. Ill update more on him tomorrow...

I thought about writing about me for awhile and decided why not. Ive been seeing 2 new doctors and my psychiatrist is stopping all my antidepressants and putting me on one medicine just for OCD. Shell give me meds for my panic attacks if they come back too but right now she thinks my OCD is the root of  most of my anxiety problems and wants to get that figured out first. Im really interested and somewhat scared of how Ill be once they start working...

then there were three

Alikah: is a proud big sister once again! She asks to hold him and talks about how cute he is. She is still loving school. She always excited to go, sad to leave, and wants to go more days. Im pretty sure shes going through a phase of testing her boundaries and there are lectures about attitudes and being disrespectful nearly everyday. I feel like/know it is partly do to all these changes in her life and shes acting out because shes not sure how to handle it. I try and talk to her about it but she doesnt want to, so maybe she just needs her space for now.

Harper: is so much better with Bodhi than I thought he would be! He still pokes and slaps a little too hard sometimes but Bodhi never seems to mind. If Harper finds one of Bo's hats/gloves/nunus laying around he was go put it in his swing. He tries to push him in it too, but hes not very good at it. When Bodhi whines he gets really worried and runs to him and stands by him staring.
His newest breakdown inducer is waiting for food. He does NOT want to wait. If he knows somethings in the mircowave or oven he will sit or lay on the kitchen floor crying and screaming until it is done. I am not even kidding. I mean hes always REALLY liked food and eating, but man!
Hes also finally sitting through short bed time stories. He used to not make it a page in before grabbing it out of my hands and throwing it but hes starting to enjoy it. AND Ive gotten him to use a sippy cup! But theres no end of his Ba's in sight. He still loves them way way too much.

Bodhi - How weird to update on 3 kids instead of 2! :) I will do a whole NICU post soon as well.
At his last doctor check up he was 7 pounds 5 ounces. Wearing newborn or size 0-3 clothes. We ran out of size Newborn diapers yesterday so now hes wearing 1s. So far Ive been peed on but so far not pooped or spit up on.

I was terrified when I was pregnant. Especially when we found out it was a boy. I was so worried that this baby would be as challenging as Harper was. And for whatever reason in my head I decided if it was a boy he would be for sure? SO HAPPY to report and *knock on wood* ... Bodhi is an amazingly simple baby. He just sleeps, eats and poops. Sometimes we forget hes even here. Spencer, only having Harper to compare with, the other day was like, "Is this normal? Hes okay right?"

Eating: He eats 2 oz every two or so hours. I switched him to 4 ounce bottles yesterday though and hes gotten 3 or 4 down maybe twice? Hes just a little snacker.

Likes: Being wrapped up and warm, snuggling, he liked his first real bath, nunu, sleeping!

Doesnt Like: Getting his diaper changed.

Sleep: Most of the day down here in his swing (not even with the swing going..he just lays in it) so I can always see him. At night I put him to sleep in his crib in our bedroom but when he wakes up to eat I bring him into our bed and he stays there the rest of the night. He eats 3-4 times through the night then goes right back to sleep. He wakes up around 9/10 AM.

fathers day weekend

Friday: Swam at the beach, took a short walk before both kids started getting tired and cranky. Stopped and got some ice cream, Alikah fell asleep right after she finished hers.

Saturday: On Thursday I wrote that their bath was cold. Turns out I was right and it was weird, our water heater was a goner. Someone came and looked at it Friday, fixed a leak and said to call back if it didnt work. That night when I gave the kids a bath the water was boiling hot. I had to add so much cold water to even it out, and then after that we were back to no hot water at all. Sooo he came back and put in a whole new one. 
Spencer's parents and Jared and Holly came over. We were going to go back to the lake but it had rained a little and we werent sure of how the weather would be so we just stayed here. Cooked out cheeseburgers and brats. 

Sunday: We didnt do anything special for Fathers Day. Spencer worked for a few hours in the early morning then we just relaxed at home. We ended up not going to Target, that plan got moved to Thursday.

Today: It stormed this morning and now it is SO HOT. Alikah had her 3 year old check up at 10am. The walk there wasnt so bad because there was a breeze but man, it is so humid out now. None of us are wearing shirts.

Alikah is 3'2, 50th percentile for weight and 60th for height.
Shes doing great :)

Doctor: You have 5 kids right?

Me: Me? Haha no.

Doctor: Hm I thought you did!

Me: Nope, not yet. 

Doctor: You want 5? Maybe thats what I remember.

Me: Well, we want more..

I would have had to have started having babies when I was 14 or 15......

But I do like that that is what people remember about us haha.
