an announcement

Yes. Hi. Welcome.
I'M PREGNANT!
First things first:
His due date is November 5th.
So I am 22 weeks/5 months!
ITS A BOY!
His name is Boden.
And heres some things to get you all caught up!
-No, we were not trying.
-The first thing I said after I got a positive test: "No FUCKING way!"
-We got pregnant the week of our wedding.
-I am seeing a midwife. I like her but I miss my old doctor so much.
-I was 95% positive it was a girl. This pregnancy was almost identical to Alikah. How I felt, my symptoms and cravings & how I was carrying had me convinced it was a girl.
-We found out it was a BOY on June 21st, Harper's first birthday! He must have wished for a brother ;)
So this little guy is definitely a trickster.
After we found out it was a boy I made Harper a onesie that says, "I turned ONE and all I got was a little brother."
Both of my parents reacted exactly how I thought they would. My mom was almost word-for-word.
My dad didnt get it at first and then said, "You're pregnant again?"
He also added: "You how far along? You waited this long to tell us?! Well, took longer than I expected. One of you needs to get fixed."
I got my mom & sisters reaction on video, so Ill post it her eventually :)
I told my sister in the Philippines to call me and once I said I was pregnant she said, "Sign on to Skype!"

Spencer wanted to tell his parents, so he was in charge of all that..

I still cant even believe Im pregnant! It was hard to keep it secret so long, especially at the very end when we found out it was a boy and I started showing more. I think know what everyone knows these last few months will fly by!

Alikah was SO CRABBY this morning. Lots of crying for no reason at all.
I told her to stop climbing on me = meltdown.
Asking her what was wrong right after = even bigger meltdown.
Once she stopped I asked her if she was okay and that just made her cry again so I gave up.
She went down for her nap without a sound though so maybe she was just freakishly tired and Im hoping she wakes up in a better mood.

A Boy

At my first ultrasound they were concerned about placenta previa and had me schedule a follow up appointment with a perinatologist at the hospital.
My ultrasound was Thursday, and we have a perfect little BOY!!
My placenta still is not where they want it to be so I have to go back in April but it was so amazing to see how much he has grown. I cried for most of it.

If you couldnt tell from my Valentine's Day picture I have been a little obsessed with caffeine free Diet Coke recently so when the lady doing my ultrasound referred to our baby as a "Diet Coke" when she told me he weighed 12oz I thought it was pretty adorable haha.

Starting now I will have Alikah Monday-Friday and Marshall will have her Saturday and Sunday. I got to my parents today at 10AM and Marshall didnt show up until 2PM. Maybe if we keep going like this eventually he will only have her Sundays or maybe hmmmm...NEVER. Yeah, that'd be nice.

BUT sitting around at my parents ended up being a good thing because Heather started reading out of the Baby Name book and Gina was on some websites in the kitchen and we have a name! Once Heather said it we all decided that we loved it and every name mentioned afterwards didnt really have a chance.

Ever since I told Spencer that Kitten is starting to recognize voices now, he has been saying Hi to them everyday and telling them that he loves them and cant wait for them to be here.
Yesterday while we were being lazy in bed he kissed my bump and said, "Me and Mommy are going to sleep in a couple hours and you will probably wake up then. You make her have crazy dreams. I hope you and Mommy can sleep in tomorrow...we are supposed to be getting a lot of snow. You dont know what that is yet but you will probably like it! I love you.."

A lot of times I wonder how I got so lucky.

Movement

I can feel baby move! Its mostly just while Im laying down in bed on my computer or reading but yesterday I was laying on the floor on my stomach while Spencer massaged my lower back and baby was NOT happy about being squished or something because I was really feeling it.
I cant wait until I can feel it all the time, I hope I can SEE them as much as I saw Alikah once I get further along.

Hi Spenther I love you.

In The Process

We've been "home" for over a week now. Right now it still looks like Alikah's apartment and the only rooms that are "done" for the most part are her bedroom and the bathrooms. Spencer hasnt even moved anything in from his house yet except for some clothes, hes supposed to be doing that tomorrow and also stopping at my parents house to get my desk. Our bedroom is some mattresses on the floor, two lamps and a corner piled with all my scrapbooking/office stuff. That picture is of our gorgeous cardboard box flooring by the front door so we have more room to take our salt-covered shoes off without spreading it all over the carpet :)
But I love it. My days are organizing or playing with Alikah and my nights are movies and fires.
Yesterday I had my first ultrasound and our feelings of it being twins turned out to be wrong BUT I am carrying one extremely active little babe. The entire 45 minutes baby was doing flips on the screen. Im only 12 weeks so obviously I cant but half way through even the doctor was like "Wow...can you feel any of that??!"
I made a card for Spencer's parents that he is going to give them today when he stops over there after work that has a picture from the ultrasound in it, which is how hes going to tell them.
Alikah found the carbon monoxide alarm in her room today and after beeping it twice before I got there once I opened the door she came running out crying and screaming "I PUSHED THE BUTTON PUSHED BUTTON!!" and it was hilarious but she wouldnt go back in her room until 15 minutes later and then I had to sit in there with her until she was finally calmed down enough to take her nap. Ohhh Alikah.

Most Likely

Yesterday Kristan told me that Brad said Tony told him I was pregnant again. And if Tony knows I'm guessing everyone does and they are just waiting for us to announce.

Then Spencer got this fortune at dinner. Too funny.

I feel like a grandma

I started feeling sick a couple days ago and ended up with a nasty cough and an asthma attack I would not get rid of. I couldnt get into my doctors office so they suggested I go to urgent care. The lady at the front desk told me it was an hour and a half wait but once I told her what was going on she called a nurse to come get me right away. I had 2 breathing treatments and they gave me prescriptions for steroids, refills for my nebulizer and also an antibiotic to help me fight off any infections while my lungs were so weak. The doctor told me that if it gets worse I need to go back right away and she told me if I would have tried to wait until the 8th (My 1st appt for baby) I "wouldnt have made it." The steroids will get to the baby but they only gave me a high dose of them for the next 7 days so hopefully I wont have to take them the entire time.

We move in two weeks!!! :) And have names for the baby picked out already! First names, at least. The first girl name I told Spencer about has grown on both of us already..the more we think about it the more reasons we find to love it.

I feel like I'm 30 weeks pregnant not 6. I'm not sick and I'm hoping that I get lucky again with that but I'm crabby, dizzy, hungry and I'm so incredibly lazy that moving myself from our bed (which is currently a gymnastics mat on the floor in Alikah's room) to the couch feels like too much work.
Alikah is in clingy stage which makes it impossible for me to even walk out of the room without her yelling for me. She constantly wants to be held and the last couple days she has really been fighting nap and bed time. She finally fell asleep last night only after I went in there to sleep too.
Spencer is leaving after work today to go hunting and he wont be home until Tuesday so after Alikah gets picked up on Sunday I plan on doing absolutely nothing until he gets back.
Change of plans with the kittens too I think we are going to be selling them all. In the last week I've gone from keeping one, to keeping two, to selling them all. Pets to me are like kids to other people...they are cute and fun for awhile but at the end of the day I just want to give them back.
